description
Art from the Streets is a program funded by the City of Seattle and put on by Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. We are working to bridge the gap between the homeless of Pioneer Square and the community that surrounds them through an avenue of mutual interest: Visual Art. This program provides an opportunity for artistic expression to those who would otherwise be financially unable, while also opening up a space for men and women to explore the arts as a catalyst for healing and therapy.
Every first Thursday (5:30p-8p) from March to October the Mission will open the doors of its Spanish Chapel, in conjunction with the First Thursday ArtWalk, to give the neighborhood a glimpse into the artwork and lives of their homeless neighbors.
